MANIFESTO

The artist makes visible the ongoing conversations within the individual's inner world. It brings together the constantly shifting states between the soul, the body, and the subconscious on a single surface.

These works do not exist to be understood at first glance. They shift perception, tire the gaze, and disrupt the viewer's balance. Because the inner world of a human, like their soul and body, is not single-layered or clear.

"In my works, the human face is not a portrait, but a mirror."

The traces carried by the body, reflections of states of mind, and emotions repressed in the subconscious overlap to create a new narrative. People encountered in the past, lived experiences, and moments thought to be forgotten leave traces on the body's expressions, gazes, and surfaces. The soul carries these, the body reveals them, and the subconscious hides them.

This is not an attempt to distort reality. It is an acceptance that reality can exist in multiple layers simultaneously. Happiness, hope, unhappiness, and despair can coexist in the same body, in the same state of mind. The “illusion” technique I use is a reflection of this layered state.

Tulles, surfaces, and images merge in different layers. The eye cannot fully distinguish what it is looking at; the body feels, consciousness pauses, and the soul steps in. This dizziness is not a coincidence. It invites the viewer to confront their own inner layers.

These works do not tell a specific story. They open a space for the viewer to find pieces of their own essence, soul, and subconscious. Every gaze, every state of mind, every perception of the body transforms into another reflection in the painting. Because these works advocate this:

Art exists not to be understood, but to make contact with the soul.
